The Barbara Knapp Business Lecture Series is designed to provide speakers on business-oriented topics of interest and of benefit to both the students and the broader community. Launched in 2004, the series has continued to bring timely, interesting topics to students and the broader community year after year. It is named for Barbara A. Knapp, a member of the Mount Mercy University Board of Trustees and retired chair and chief executive officer for SCI Financial Group.
Chris DeWolf is co-owner, President and CEO of the Lil’ Drug Store Products (LDSP) family of businesses, a portfolio of consumer products and retail solutions companies, and co-owner of ForeFold Ventures, a family office focused on private investments and philanthropy.
Previously, he held positions at the General Electric Company, including corporate finance, acquisition and business development roles with GE Healthcare. Chris is immediate past-Chair and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Mercycare Service Corporation, the parent company of Mercy Cedar Rapids’ hospital and clinics, as well as serving on the Board of Directors for Mercy Hospital’s Foundation. He is a member of the University of Iowa Center for Advancement Board of Directors, as well as the Center’s Finance Committee, and he also serves on the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business Advisory Board. Chris is a member of the Board of Advisors for Swinetech, Inc., a technology company focused on eliminating sow and piglet deaths.
In 2011, Chris and his wife, Suzy, were honored as Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa’s Young Entrepreneurs of the year. The couple was honored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2013 as the Outstanding Individual Philanthropists of the year, with Lil’ Drug Store Products receiving the honor by the Association in 2020 as the Outstanding Large Philanthropic Organization of the year. In 2022, Chris and Suzy received the Howard Hall Excellence in Business Award from the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance.
Chris holds a B.B.A. from the University of Iowa and an M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. Chris and Suzy have three children, Riley, Lindsay and Weston.
